About Parlay

Parlay is a daily word game for people who find their daily word game a little too easy. Every day there's a new rack of nine tiles, a word length, and a number — the exact Scrabble value of the hidden word. Dozens of real words fit the rack. Exactly one hits the number.

You get one guess. A new hand deals at midnight, local time. Difficulty ramps through the week: Monday hands are the gentlest, weekend hands are devious.

Between hands, Practice mode lets you play other racks without affecting your stats or streak.

Progress is stored in your browser. No account, no tracking.

How to Play

Find the hidden word. You get one guess. A new hand deals every day at midnight.

• Build a word of the given length using tiles from the rack.
• Its letter values must add up to the target exactly.
• Only one word on the rack hits the number. Many come close.
• Hands get harder through the week — Monday is gentlest, the weekend is devious.

Example

Find a 5-letter word worth exactly 16 from B E J M O R S T U.

JOUST is a real word — but it's worth 12. Not the answer.

JUMBO makes 16 on the nose. That's the word.

Scoring

• A correct guess banks the word's point value.
• Words not in the dictionary don't count as your guess.
• No clues, no second chances — just you and the rack.
• Expert mode hides your running total and pays double.

Letter values are standard: A E I L N O R S T U = 1 · D G = 2 · B C M P = 3 · F H V W Y = 4 · K = 5 · J X = 8 · Q Z = 10
